As Gold Coast natives and seasoned removalists the team at Broadbeach are ideally placed to offer advice on this city. Through the years we’ve moved literally thousands of families to and from the area. We’ve witnessed the rise and fall of the property market and the Gold Coast’s growth as a tourist hotspot.

Property Hotspots

According to the Property Market Movement Report, Gold Coast house prices have risen by a third in the past 5 years. Those figures are at the height since the economic crash in 2007. The median housing value in central Gold Coast in 2017 was $631, 511.

Locally opinions vary in media and trade outlets. From our experience Upper Coomera, Pimpama and Surfers Paradise are the areas that have emerged as the most in demand property hot spots.

Demographics

The population of the Gold Coast is currently 560,000 and is steadily increasing at 2% per year. This figure is dispersed over 240,000 homes or 2.5 children per household. The Coasts GRP (Gross Regional Product) is $31,564m.

Tourist Attractions

The Gold Coast is famed for her beaches. Notably Coolangatta and Surfers Paradise. Inland, however, the Gold Coast skyline is punctuated by high rises. Most notable of which is Australia’s tallest, the Q1 Building. It’s also the sixth tallest residential building in the world.

Chinatown is based in the central business district of Southport and overlaps into Nerang. The area is punctuated by statues, restaurants and cultural events. Commuters are able to travel to and from the area via G:Link, based at the Davenport Street entrance.

We understand relocating to a new city is a multi faceted decision. Whether you’re a family or business on the move, we’re here to help. If you’d like further advice on moving to the Gold Coast, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Greg and the team.
